So, looking over the books I have read so far this year, I am disturbed to find that I really did not read many new authors! I feel shame and will try better in 2015!

I was tempted to re-read The Giver before the movie came out. I may read it before watching it on DVD.
I highly recommend The Boy Who Couldn’t Sleep and Never Had To.
It was a first time read for me!
The only book on this list that I’ve read is The Giver. But, I am dying to read Burial Rites. I’ve heard that it’s pretty great. I also want to read The Rosie Project and The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry. This is a great list! I’m not sure what authors you’ve read, but I recommend Jodi Picoult and Jojo Moyes!
I listened to Burial Rites on audio book and highly recommend it. I can’t wait to read the new Picoult.

I read The Giver this year for the first time and loved it too. I thought it was the first Lois Lowry I had read until I realised that she wrote the Anastasia Krupnik books which I loved when I was a kid!

Was this her debut? I thought it was wonderful and am actually looking forward to seeing it as a movie- something I never say!
I still haven’t read the Giver yet. I want to do that before watching the movie! I also keep hearing good things about The Rosie Project
The Giver is an excellent book. It was a great choice for a school read. True Diary of PTI I read in college and enjoyed so much!
I just read Alexie for a book club held through my kids’ school- they had to read it for summer reading. I loved it!
I loved Burial Rites, and A. J. Fikry is one of my all-time favorites! Someone else had recommended a Beatriz Willams book to me — I need to check it out!
I read The Giver like two weeks ago, it was good. Few of those books I’ve been wanting to read. Good list!

Burial Rites was SUCH a fantastic book – so great that you were able to discover it this year! And The Giver is one of my all time favorites. I pick it up every few years and have been doing so since I was in elementary school. Glad it ended up being a good read even as an adult!
The ending made me want to pull my hair out!
