This was a little hard for me- some books jumped out at me, while others I really had to consider.

1.  Burial Rites by Hannah Kent

2.  Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty

3.  The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin

4.  The House We Grew Up In by Lisa Jewell

5.  Bag of Bones by Stephen King

6.  One Plus One by Jojo Moyes

7.  The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian by Sherman Alexie

8.  We Are Not Ourselves by Matthew Thomas

9.  The Green Mile by Stephen King

10. Bellweather Rhapsody by Kate Racculia

What was your ABSOLUTE favorite book of 2014?

  1. Loving your choices, Little Lies (aka Big Little Lies) definitey makes my top 10 of the year. I also love the inclusion of the fantastic The House We Grew up in and The One Plus One and Burial Rites is still sitting patiently on my TBR.

  2. Your list overlaps with mine with Burial Rites and One Plus One, which is exciting! My two favorites this year were easily Burial Rites and I Shall Be Near To You by Erin Lindsay McCabe, which I HIGHLY recommend if you haven’t read it yet. The audiobook is fantastic, in fact. (: Some of your others are still on my to-read list.

  3. Any list with two Stephen King books is a top ten to me. I’m glad someone else enjoyed Bag of Bones as much as I did. 🙂

I debated over putting Big Little Lies on my list. It is probably in my next ten.

  4. Big Little Lies, A. J. Fikry, The House We Grew Up In, and One Plus One all got 5 stars from me this year, as well as Everything I Never Told You and The Invention of Wings.

  5. Wow, can’t argue with any of these! 🙂 I can’t believe I left Burial Rites off my list — such an impressive book. We have a few books in common (A. J. Fikry!), and I see a few that I probably should have included (Big Little Lies!). I loved One Plus One, and really want to read The Green Mile and Bellwether Rhapsody.
