Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke & the Bookish. It’s awesome. Every Tuesday, the lovely ladies over there give us book bloggers wonderful and fun topics to create our lists! Check out what others have posted by going over there! http://brokeandbookish.blogspot.com
I missed last week’s TTT, so I decided to do it this week. Here are my
Top Ten Goals/Resolutions for 2014
1. Get Organized.
When I went away last month, I actually sat down for a few hours and wrote out about 8 posts in advance and scheduled them. It was awesome. I have to put time aside each week to do that. Usually I post like I am now, the day I want it out, whenever I grab a few minutes in front of the computer. Too piecemeal.
2. Join up with the Book Blogger Hop that is hosted by Coffee Addicted Writer.
You answer one cool question a week. I can commit to that.
3. Use Better Graphics.
I hear lots of people use Pic Monkey. I went over there and I am still unsure how to use it. I should write this blog in a notebook- that’s how tech savvy I am.
4. Reread Harry Potter.
I have been meaning to do this for a long while. Everytime I say I will, I find about ten new books that I also want to read.
5. Join The Classics Club.
Been meaning to do this too. I need to commit- enough already!
6. Attend BEA?
I am considering attending this year, especially since I can do it in a day trip- I live about 40 miles outside of NYC. I want to, but I am not sure if I should. Are many of you going? I might go if I at least knew a few people that were there.
7. Relax
Not every book I read HAS to get reviewed, right? Sometimes I read just for fun (just got the 20th Stephanie Plum-guilty pleasure). Also, the posting has to be fun-not a chore. If I don’t want to write, I won’t.
8. Increase Followers
I really haven’t actively done much in this area up until now. Any suggestions??
I really have no idea.
That is pretty much it for bookish/blog resolutions.
Hi! I love your resolutions and aside from reading Harry Potter, I am going to try them too! good luck.
Thanks!
I *might* be going to BEA. I think I am, but I’m maybe at on 85%. I know Allison from The Book Wheel is going, as is Shannon at River City Reading.
Organization is the goal that I’m always trying to achieve. Someday, maybe, when my kids are older. Maybe.
(But probably not.)
I wish I could go to BEA! Living on the West Coast, it’s just not feasible for me. Staying organized — yes! I’m working on travel plans for the summer, and reading your resolution, I realize that I should take the time in advance to write and schedule posts so I don’t end up stressing or worrying while I’m away. For PicMonkey, I’d say just go play! It’s not too scary, and worse comes to worst, just don’t save anything you don’t like. 🙂 I ended up skipping this week’s TTT because I couldn’t think of anything for the topic — I should have looked at a week I skipped instead! Oh well, maybe next time. Nice list!
You have come up with some great goals. I use picmonkey not in any fantastic way but it is quite easy. I learnt how to use it just be importing a picture and having some fun with the buttons!
All very interesting goals, especially getting organised. I’m such a control/organisation freak that I’m constantly writing down to-do lists and, at least for me, it pays off. So, good luck!
#8 Visit more blogs and comment on them 🙂 The best way to get followers is by introducing yourself to them. Like… what I’m sort of doing now 🙂
Definitely yes on getting organised! Part of the reason I get stressed about blogging sometimes is that I’m rushing to fit in writing blog posts on the day, or at least the night before. I’ll really need to try and make time to write a few in advance so it’s more relaxing!
I do the same thing- need to set aside time to get lots done, but then again I need to do that with lots of things-no?
YES to 1, 3, 4, and 7! I’ve been trying to get ahead this week, and it does feel good to have some of my posts for next week and the following week already ‘in the bag.’ As for re-reading Harry Potter, it’s always a good time for that! 🙂
I looked into BEA, but between hotel costs and the cost of the conference, I’m not sure I can justify it this year. I haven’t completely decided, though. Good luck to you; I hope you get to go!
PS. Thanks for stopping by my blog the other day!
Just when I was making progress-bam-the flu. I will reset next week! Have a good weekend.
I’m so sorry – I hope you feel better soon!
I like resolution number 7. I only started my blog December last year, but I do not really obligate myself to write a review for all the books I read. I only write about them when I want to. A few books from the past will probably make its way to the blog in the future too 🙂 I should check out Pic Monkey.
Glad you’re going to join the Classics Club!

Great goals!
Suggestion to add followers – follow new blogs! Comment, comment, comment! It’s a huge help I think 😀
Good luck!
And I’m glad your blog isn’t a pencil and paper blog – I like it here on the web.
Thank you!
