Top Ten Books When You Need Something Light and Fun
1. Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling
This could have been 1-7 for me, but that’s ok-I will only take up one spot.
2. The Devil Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger
3. Bergdorf Blondes by Plum Sykes
4. The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith
5. One For The Money by Janet Evanovich
I love the Stephanie Plum series- so much fun!
6. Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons by Lorna Landvich
7. The Lost Recipe for Happiness by Barbara O’Neal
8. Savannah Blues by Mary Kay Andrews
9. Marley & Me by John Grogan
I know this is sad- but until the end, I was laughing so hard-my Katie is just like Marley!
10. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
maybe not light, but the most fun to read (for me)- This is my favorite!
Apparently, if I want light and fun, I need to read more YA contemporary romance! 🙂 I did have Harry Potter on my list too, though.

Great list! I’m still mad I leant my copy of Bergdorf Blondes to a friend years ago and never got it back.
I have Pride & Prejudice on my list 🙂
PS: I read The Devil wears Prada, but I didn’t like it that much…
Bergdorf Blondes looks like a really fun read! And you can never go wrong with Pride and Prejudice 🙂 Great list 🙂
Here’s my Top Ten!
The Devil Wears Prada is so fun, and Bergdorf Blondes looks totally cute. Lots of HP love today. Thanks for sharing your light recs 🙂
Nice list! Harry Potter is my go-to comfort read. Just reading a few chapters from one of the earlier books always makes me feel so much better. Marley and Me and Pride and Prejudice are good ones too! Another great comfort read is Cheryl Strayed’s Tiny Beautiful Things; no matter what’s bothering me, she is able to put my problems into perspective and help me feel better.
I will have to look that up-thanks.
I’ve read barely any of these (for shame). I love Ron Weasley’s jokes and comments in the books on top of the crazy Dursleys. “Bloody hell!”
HP is an obvious pick, I included it as well. 🙂
Love PP and HP. It’s been years since I read Bergdof Blondes, but I do remember liking it. Great list!
Love your list- I remember Goodnight Nobody- that was so much fun!!
Great List! I left HP off mine but it is a great comfort read. I must read Bergdoff Blondes.
Harry Potter all the way! I love Marley and Me as well, and my dog has so many antics that mimic Marley’s that I was laughing a lot. But I get so distraught at the end that I couldn’t include it on my list. Devil Wears Prada, One For The Money, No. 1 Ladies’ and Pride and Prejudice are all on my to-read list. Awesome list!
I didn’t include HP but of course its on my all time favs list. Angry Housewives eating bonbons has a great title, makes me want to read the book!
Oh, I loved MARLEY & ME! I didn’t think I was going to because I’m really not an animal person, but it was so sweet and funny that it just melted my heart. Great pick 🙂
