Tough weekend- my son left to spend a month studying engineering in PA. I will admit, there were tears-mine. So, on to the books-I sound like a broken record when I say AGAIN, that I wasn’t that into reading that much this week. so, here is what happened-
This week, I finished-
And The Mountains Echoed by Khaled Hosseini
I reviewed-
Sight Reading by Daphne Kalotay
https://turnthepagereviews.com/2013/06/19/sight-reading-a-review/
I am currently reading-
The Last Original Wife by Dorthea Benton Frank
And up next is-
The Prodigal by Michael Hurley
For 2,000 years, Christendom has believed that faith and penitence are the narrow gates through which all who seek heaven must pass, and that the church on Earth holds the key. What if a forgotten relic, hidden inside an abandoned ship thought to have been lost at sea more than a century ago, suddenly reappeared and cast doubt on that belief? Who would seek to use it? Who would seek to destroy it? And whose lives would it forever change? Aidan Sharpe, a disbarred and penniless lawyer trying to rebuild his life on Ocracoke Island, finds love and destiny as he seeks the answers to these questions.
What are you reading this week?
Hi, I have The Last Original Wife on my kindle unread, and The Prodigal seems intriguing. Have a good week reading!
I can’t wait to hear what you thought of And the Mountains Echoed. I want to read that right this minute! 🙂
The Last Original Wife is a lot of fun!
opinions to come? I can’t wait.
I look forward to seeing what you think of And The Mountains Echoed, I added this to my TBR thanks to you last week.
I am sure you’ll be OK, even with you son away for a month! It’s not easy to see them grow up and be so independent, but at the same time, it means you have done a great job – he can manage on his own 🙂
Happy reading.
Here’s my It’s Monday… post for this week.
Wow- you really did a lot of reading last week-jealous! Thanks so much- I know it is a great thing and it will really help him grow- I guess we don’t realize how much we will miss them?
I have both The Prodigal and The Last Original Wife on my wishlist, looking forward to hearing what you thought of And The Mountains Echoed. Happy reading this week!
Thanks- hoping to post in a day or so.
Very excited to hear about your opinion on Hosseini’s book!
I started Life After Life today and have been working on the short story collection What We Talk About When We Talk About Anne Frank.
Thanks- hoping to post a review in a day or two
