This week’s topic is-

Top Ten Books on My Fall TBR List

Seeing as the weather here is 100% autumnal, this is a perfect topic-going down to 38 degrees tonight-brrrr……

1.  The End of the Affair by Graham Greene

It is one of those novels I have always wanted to read, but never have.  I am determined to do it!

29641

2.  The First Phone Call from Heaven by Mitch Albom

Love this author, even though he usually makes me sad 😦

17888952

3.  Seduction-A Novel of Suspense

I love suspense!

15802432

4.  Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock by Matthew Quick

This book sounds great- disturbing, but great.

13477676

5.  Touchstone by Laurie R King

I read Bones of Paris, never realizing it was a sequel-so now I want to read the first!

1272835

6.  We Need to Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver

I had’t heard of this until the movie came out not too long ago.

80660

7.  East of Eden by John Steinbeck

Again, one of the books that has been on my TBR list for way too long- going to tackle it this fall.

4406

8.  Seating Arrangements by Maggie Shipstead

The other books are pretty serious, so I want a little comic relief!

13531447

9.  The Secret History by Donna Tart

I have been hearing that this is a book I MUST read, so I am going for it!

29044

10.  The Stand by Stephen King

Ashamed to say, this will be my first Stephen King- very excited!!

That’s what I am looking forward to reading in the coming months-what about you?

Please leave a comment-I love hearing from you!!!

  1. I really liked Touchstone but it felt really slow for some reason. King’s writing style and knowledge of the time period though is superb. Here’s my TTT

  2. This is a fantastic list. The Stand and The Secret History are two of my all-time favorites. The End of the Affair is on my Classics Club list and I’m hearing really good things about Matthew Quick’s new book. Enjoy your reading!

  3. I hope you enjoy The Stand. One of the few King’s that I still haven’t read. It’s a huge book so I keep delaying. I just bought a new copy of The Shining to read in anticipation of Dr. Sleep being published later this month.

I hope you enjoy your fall reads!

And yes it is sooooo cold in NJ right now! I’m contemplating switching the space heater on in my office. My feet are freezing!

  4. Ooooo East of Eden! I was SUPRISED at how much I really enjoyed that one. I thought it would be a drag, but it was kind of unputdownable. And yay for The Stand! Probably didn’t need to be a billion pages long, but it was good 🙂

  5. I want to read Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock, too! The End of the Affair and Seduction sound interesting! I tried to read The Secret History once and couldn’t get into it, but I’d like to try it again someday. King is a bit hit-or-miss for me, and I didn’t LOVE The Stand, but I hope you enjoy it and all the books on your list!

  6. I haven’t read any of them, but they all look great.
East of Eden is also in my list since always (not in my fall list, though hehe). I’ve loved other books by Steinbeck.

  9. I guess I’m behind — just catching up on Tuesday posts today! This is a terrific list! I read The Stand so many years ago, and was just having a Stephen King conversation (it happens!) that reminded me I should reread this one. It’s intense and amazing. There’s a lot here to love (East of Eden! The Secret History!), and a few books I need to check out as well!
